""The last thing I want to see is the auto industry disappear," Obama said. Still, he added that any loans or assistance must be tied to restructuring of the companies."

The assistance should be tied to the restructuring of Capital Hill. For starters, Capital Hill needs to implement substantial rebates to customers who buy the fuel efficient cars that Americans have never wanted to buy.

I am amazed at the restraint of these CEOs. I would have already told a few folks on Capital Hill take to hike. I suppose that is why I will never be a CEO.

I wish that Capitol Hill would quit hiding behind the taxpayer. It is insulting to the taxpayers to be told that, although a particular elected official is capable of understanding, the taxpayers can not understand. It is, in fact, people on Capitol Hill who lack sophistication. As a taxpayer, with money at stake, I do not want to see Wagoner canned at this time. Politicians need to acknowledge their role in the demise of our automobile industry.
