Why pull Lewis? Because he would not divulge contractual obligations inherited with Merril Lynch? Perhaps Thain is culpable for non-disclosure. Lewis is correct to preserve the privacy of his employees and to honor inherited contracts. Acting with thoughtful integrity is no reason to pull a CEO.
