Leak information from a private company to Martha Stewart and people go to jail. Leak information from the Treasury and this is good crisis management.
Lewis noted that public "rumors" about BOA coincided with government disclosures. It is any wonder that private companies want to keep strategic information private? Any wonder why the hedge funds do not want to report to the SEC.
If competitors resorted to the same tactics as our government there would be lawsuits.
